Terms of Service
Last updated 6 November 2026
These terms explain how you may use ApwonyCoch AI, what you pay for, and what we are and aren't responsible for. In short: your research stays yours, the AI helps but doesn't guarantee outcomes, and you can cancel any time.
1. Agreement
ApwonyCoch AI (“the service”) is provided by ApwonyCoch AI (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the service on behalf of a university or other organisation, you confirm you may accept these Terms for it.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 years old.
- Give accurate details and keep your password secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
- Tell us promptly at support@example.com if you think your account has been accessed without permission.
3. Plans, trial and billing
- New accounts get a 5-day trial with AI help and exports, limited to one manuscript review and one systematic review in total. Grant Discovery and team workspaces need a paid plan.
- Paid plans (Solo $10/mo, Team $25/mo, Pro $40/mo, or yearly at a discount) are billed in advance in US dollars through Stripe and renew automatically each month or year until you cancel.
- Plan limits are shown on the Account page and may change; we'll give notice before a change reduces what a paid plan includes.
- If a payment fails, we may move your account to the Free plan until it is resolved.
- Prices exclude any taxes that apply where you live.
4. Cancellation and refunds
- Cancel any time from Account → Manage billing. You keep paid access until the end of the period you've paid for.
- If you didn't mean to be charged, email support@example.com within 14 days of the charge and we'll refund it, provided the paid features haven't been substantially used in that period.
- Otherwise, payments are not refunded for partly used periods, except where the law requires.
5. Your content
You keep all rights to the manuscripts, references, drafts and other material you add (“your content”). You give us permission to store and process it only as needed to run the service for you, including sending it to our AI provider to generate reports and suggestions. We don't publish your content or use it to train AI models.
Only upload content you have the right to use, and remove identifying patient or participant data unless you are allowed to share it.
6. AI output
Readiness reports, screening and extraction suggestions, grant matches and draft text are produced by AI. They can be incomplete or wrong. Treat them as a checklist and a starting point: check them against journal and funder instructions and your own judgement. We don't guarantee that a manuscript will be accepted or that an application will be funded. You are responsible for what you submit, including authorship and research integrity requirements.
7. Funding information
Grant listings come from public sources such as Grants.gov and funders' websites and are refreshed weekly. Deadlines, eligibility and amounts can change; always confirm details with the funder before applying.
8. Team workspaces
- A workspace owner on the Team or Pro plan can invite members. Members' manuscripts, saved grants and systematic reviews are visible to everyone in the workspace.
- While the owner's plan is active, members get the same plan access. That access ends if the owner downgrades, removes the member or deletes the workspace.
- Members keep their own content if they leave or the workspace is deleted.
9. Acceptable use
Don't:
- break the law, infringe others' rights, or upload malware;
- try to access other people's accounts or data, or get around plan limits or security;
- scrape, resell or overload the service, or use it to build a competing product;
- use it to fabricate data, plagiarise, or otherwise commit research misconduct.
10. Suspension and closure
You can delete your account at any time from the Account page. We may suspend or close accounts that break these Terms, with notice where reasonable. We may change or discontinue features; if we shut the service down we'll give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data.
11. Disclaimers and liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses (such as a rejected paper, unsuccessful application or lost opportunity), and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer law that can't be excluded.
12. Changes and governing law
We'll ask you to accept material changes to these Terms in the app before they apply to you. These Terms are governed by the laws of Uganda. Questions: support@example.com, Kampala, Uganda.
